TOBY STORIE-PUGH

I have always gravitated towards the unconventional. From a young age, I was encouraged to explore, question, and follow my instincts. This foundation led me on an extraordinary journey that has shaped my worldview and reinforced my belief in the power of creativity and exploration. My passion lies in uncovering stories - in people, places, and the art I now collect and curate.

TO WANDER & TO WONDER

I can see now that the need to explore and an enduring curiosity have been the guiding forces behind my journey. From co-founding the leadership academy Flying Kites in Kenya to spearheading transformative projects with Naserian Foundation in the Maasai Mara, these traits have driven my pursuit of meaningful impact.

A LATER AWAKENING

A decade or so ago,  I was shown portraits by  the great British impressionist, Wilfrid de Glehn, in the home of a family friend, his great-nephew. This encounter ignited my passion for art and set me off on an extraordinary journey. Since that pivotal moment, I’ve pursued art that goes beyond mere decoration, focusing on pieces that engage viewers and enrich their environments with compelling stories.

ART BEYOND BORDERS

Our collection reflects a global perspective. I believe compelling artistic narratives emerge from all cultures, and I'm fascinated by the connections between artists across diverse backgrounds. Our curated pieces bridge cultural divides, showcasing universal beauty and stories that echo our shared human experience.

MEANINGFUL NARRATIVES

I believe that art's greatest strength lies in its ability to tell compelling stories. While beauty in art is undeniable, I am particularly drawn to works that engage on a deeper level, pieces that go beyond decoration to communicate, challenge, and resonate. Each artwork in my collection is chosen for its narrative power, offering viewers more than just a visual experience—a meaningful connection that endures.
